Under the right conditions, your muscles produce certain chemicals that can nurture and change the structure of your brain. When your muscles produce these brain altering factors, we have the opportunity to change the structure of our brains to favor the behavior, feelings, and attitudes that we want. In this class, we will explore the conditions that stimulate the muscles to make those brain altering molecules, and how to take advantage of this opportunity to rewire our brains. In addition, we will explore how different mental states influence how well or how poorly your muscular, cardiovascular, immune, endocrine, nervous, and digestive systems respond and adapt to exercise. It's true: what you think about and your attitude while exercising can influence your results!
